Training

The Central Registered Body in Scotland was established by the Scottish Executive to provide free disclosures (police checks) for volunteers in the voluntary sector working with children, young people and Adults at Risk.

CRBS will offer a comprehensive training programme to meet the needs of all voluntary organisations, whatever their size, wherever they are. We can make arrangements to deliver training to your organisation on request. A minimum number of 6 delegates are required and travel costs may be requested. Please contact by email @ info@crbs.org.uk or by telephone on 01786 849777 option 3 for further information.

Evaluation, Training Needs Analysis and statistical information from the 2003 programme has shown us that demand for training in Glasgow and Edinburgh exceeds all other venues. However, to help keep training accessible we have also included dates in Aberdeen and Inverness. If you cannot travel to any of the above cities, please still complete a booking form (link to the booking form can be found at the bottom of each training event) stating your preferred area. Your details will be entered onto our training database and as soon as we have sufficient numbers to run a course in your area we will contact you with the details as well as publish them on this page. If you are on the database, you will, of course have first refusal to these courses.

Registration and visual ID sessions are also available after advertised training sessions at each venue. If you would like to attend a registration session please contact Janice MacDonald on 01786 849777 (option 3) or by email info@crbs.org.uk. See registering section for more details on Open Registrations.

As a non profit making organisation, CRBS is aware of the restrictions on funds of voluntary organisations and strives to keep fees for training at a minimum. Whilst CRBS subsidises training to a degree, fees set for training sessions go towards covering external training provider charges and administration costs.

Please note we require a minimum number of 6 delegates for each course.
