Volunteer Development Scotland are committed to making
the website accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Inevitable due to
the range of computer operating sytems and internet browsers some features
might not function as expected. In these circumatances please e-mail the webmaster and
we will endevour to resolve the the problem as soon as possible.
Accessibility Features
Each page has the following features to improve accessibility:
- Internet explorer access key values have been assigned to the following
- alt+0 (PC) Ctrl+0 (mac) provides direct access to the support menu
and main content.
- alt+1 (PC) Ctrl+1 (mac) provides direct access to the main navigation
options
- alt+2 (PC) Ctrl+2 (mac) provides direct access to the secondary navigation
menus (e.g if module two is selected alt+2 cycles through all content
available in module two)
- A link is provided to jump to the main content of the page (internet explorer
access key alt+0 (PC) Ctrl+0 (mac))
- Main navigation Links have title tags for improved readability.
- Pages have the language identified for screen readers
- Text style sheets use relative font sizing to allow user adjustment. (View
text size on IE, View increase / decrease fonts on netscape)
- Page contrast is high and colour blind tests have been carried out to ensure
readability.
