Registering with CRBS

Applying for registration with CRBS

When organisations apply for registration, CRBS will:

  • ensure that the organisation is a bona fide organisation;
  • check that it is non-profit making (i.e. is a voluntary body);
  • ensure that the organisation is entitled to register (i.e. it works with children and/or vulnerable adults);
  • undertake an identification check (which includes a visual identification)of the potential Lead Signatory/Collator at the point of registration.

There are a number of steps involved in the registration process and these are detailed on the website.

An important part of this process includes the submission of the following documents:

  • Appropriate visual identification (see the website or ‘phone CRBS for details);
  • Child Protection Policy and/or Vulnerable Adult Policy;· Policy on the Rehabilitation of Ex-Offenders;
  • Policy on Secure Handling, Use, Storage and Retention of Disclosure Information;
  • Leaflets, brochures etc. describing the purpose of the organisation;
  • The structure of the organisation and details of the management committee;
  • Funding details.
