Intermediary Organisations

The Code of Practice was published by Scottish Ministers under Section 122(1) of the Police Act 1997 to provide guidance for organisations registered to access the disclosure scheme under Part V of the Police Act 1997. The information provided in this section has been developed to help organisations registered with the CRBS as an Intermediary Body to help ensure they and the organisations that they represent have full understanding of the requirements of the Ministerial Code of Practice, which in turn will lead to full compliance.

All organisations accessing Disclosure Checks directly through CRBS, Intermediary Bodies working on behalf of CRBS and organisations registered indirectly with CRBS through and Intermediary Body must comply with Part V of the Police Act 1997. The Code of Practice provides guidance on how compliance can be achieved.
