On-line training

Our on-line training is delivered in the form of “webinars” - Participants will hear the presenter's voice and see the slide presentation on their screen. Handouts will be provided in advance of the session and will be referred to during the training. There will be the opportunity to ask questions via a "chat" facility and to speak with the presenter by phone afterwards.

Course Details

• Referrals, listing and barring – people who are excluded from the Scheme
• Understanding “harm” and “risk of harm” in relation to the PVG Scheme
• The legal obligations you have for making referrals under the PVG Scheme

This course combines with the on-line course “PVG Membership” to provide a package of training on the PVG legislation and its operation.
It is also designed as a stand-alone course for people who hold responsibility within organisations for
• dealing with instances of harm to children and / or protected adults OR
• the final stages of discipline OR
• governance

Duration: 90 minutes

• Regulated work with children and protected adults - who can join the Scheme?

This course combines with the on-line course “Referrals & Listing” to provide a package of training on the PVG legislation. You may also want to attend the “Role of the signatory course” in order to understand the contents of PVG disclosure certificates.

Duration: 60 minutes

Course Details

·         An introduction to CRBS

·         The legislation which applies to disclosure checking

·         The Code of Practice in relation to disclosure information

·         Understanding your role as a signatory

·          Understanding the types of disclosure certificates that will be available under the Scheme  

·         Resources available from CRBS and Disclosure Scotland

 

This course combines with the on-line course “Retrospective Checking” to provide a complete package of training for people acting as signatories with CRBS.

Duration: 75 minutes

Retrospective checking under the PVG Scheme started at the end of 2012. It poses more problems than might appear at first sight. This course deals with the preparation, the mechanics and the implications. The course stands alone or combines with the training for signatories.
