Anyone can apply for a basic disclosure. A basic dislcosure may also be requested for a new job or volunteer position that does not meet the criteria for a standard or enhanced disclosure. Basic disclosures should be applied for via Disclosure Scotland.  Please click here to go to the Disclosure Scotland website.

When can my organisation ask for a standard dislcosure?

  • If your organisation is a care service
  • If your organisation is a health service or similar to a health service
  • If your organisation provides a service to adults at risk
If you have answered yes to any of the above you may be able to ask for a standard disclosure. For more information please contact a member of our enrolment and assessment team on 01786 849777 (option 1).

When can my organisation ask for an enhanced dislcosure?

  • If your organisation provides services/activities to children
  • If your organisation provides services, support, counselling or training to adults at risk
If you have answered yes to any of the above you may be able to ask for an enhanced disclosure. For more information please contact a member of our enrolment and assessment team on 01786 849777 (option 1).

What information will be shown on each level of Disclosure Certificate?

  • Basic - contains only convictions unspent under The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
  • Standard - contains all conviction information, spent and unspent,including cautions.
  • Enhanced - contains all conviction information, spent and unspent, and any other non-conviction information considered to be relevant by the police or other Goverment bodies.
